Interested in a job where the very purpose is to find the truth and provide that sharp evidence that leads to a conviction in cases of everything from cybercrime to insurance fraud and resolution of conflicts caused by double-dealing spouses? Then a role within a private investigation agency could be for you. But how does one become a PI? And what education do I need to work as a private investigator?

Most private investigators are employees of a private investigation agency that works on a contract basis for clients in the public and the private sector. While in America it is mandatory that investigators have a state license that permits them to conduct legal investigations and surveillance, this is not the case in some countries in Europe, UK new regulations require licensing. This means that the requirements for becoming a private investigator are set by the employing agency.

The tasks involved in the modern private intelligence business are varied, and so are the specific skills sets that the agencies look for. A progressive, cost-efficient and successful agency like Global CC employs IT-experts as well as people with a signals intelligence background or law graduates. In terms of personalities, a serious agency commonly looks for people who combine great creativity with the capacity to work very methodically to solve a problem – and that never give up! Personal integrity is another must in a profession that handles sensitive information and depends on the trust of the clients. A “big mouth” has no business in the private intelligence business!

Our clients are picky about who they hire to deal with their confidential business or private lives. Naturally, we are just as choosy about who we hire to help us do that job. In essence, we handpick people.

When we are looking for staff, some professional backgrounds are more interesting to us than others. A fitting candidate might have a background in security services or diplomacy, legal professions, law enforcement or investigative journalism.

Should you have a fitting professional background, you are welcome to send us your resume. If we are interested we will get back to you. If you don’t hear from us, this means that we have no position suitable for your qualifications.
